WCF on Demand is a video on demand platform that has been created in cooperation with the German Federal Cultural Foundation/Kulturstiftung des Bundes - KSB in order to celebrate ten years of successful World Cinema Fund funding work.

Since the start of the World Cinema Fund in 2004, 149 projects for production and distribution funding among 2.755 applications from Africa, Latin America, the Middle East, Central and Southeast Asia, the Caucasus, as well as from the countries Nepal, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka have been supported.

We are proud and happy that all the films produced with WCF financing have been invited by many festivals around the world, where they're regularly received awards and praise. They are films with a strong and innovative identity, both in terms of content and their artistic profile, films linked to regional narratives far away from any exoticism. Many of them have also had successful theatrical releases in their home countries and in the region, not to mention on the international market.

With this new platform WCF on Demand, we want to bring WCF films to audiences worldwide, making a selection of ten WCF-supported films available almost anywhere and anytime by video on demand.

If you want to find out more about the projects that have been funded during the first decade of the WCF funding activities, please check and read our WCF Booklet.
